The Cave Fire broke out on Monday afternoon in the Los Padres National Forest, near the Painted Cove community. As of Tuesday night, it had burned through 4,330 acres, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, and was 10 percent contained. Heavy rain is helpful for firefighting efforts, but the additional moisture could cause flooding and debris flow, a phenomenon similar to a landslide. Debris flows can start after only a few minutes of intense rain and are fast-moving, posing a deadly risk to people in their path....
At least two people were killed and two others were hospitalized when the twin-engine Cessna C340 crashed in a neighborhood in Santee, California, near San Diego, on Monday. The plane, which was en route to Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport in San Diego from Yuma, Arizona, impacted at least two houses and a UPS delivery truck, near Santana High School at about 12.15 p.m. local time. NBC 7 reported that the pilot was Sugata Das, a cardiologist at the Yuma Regional Medical Center who frequently flew back and forth to Arizona from San Diego, where he lived....

The Premier League club have not been able to rely on their strikers for goals this season, as Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata have managed just six between them. Colonel Turki bin Saleh al-Maliki, a spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition battling the Ansar Allah, or Houthi, Zaidi Shiite Muslim movement in Yemen, hosted a press conference Wednesday in which he presented a range of weaponry allegedly used in Saturday’s attacks on the Abqaiq oil-processing site and nearby Khurais oil field. He attributed the weapons, which included 18 drones and seven land-attack cruise missiles, to “the Iranian regime and the Iranian IRGC,” a reference to the elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps....
