The game between the Istanbul rivals was part of the four-day European Champions Cup. Saturday’s match was canceled after the violence.
Unfortunately, this was a repeat performance. The BBC notes that 10 fans of these same clubs were arrested after they sprayed fire extinguishers at each other at a wheelchair hoops game in 2012. Police broke it up using tear gas.
